For many years Mollie O’Meara Conrad served as the local coordinator for the Mullane Academy of Irish Dance and as the bridge between the community and the Mullane Family. Mollie’s devotion was a key to the ongoing expansion and maintenance of step dancing in the region.  Though her own children have ended their dance careers, she has continued her involvement with the Mullane Academy as the coordinator for the all-school Family Feis Weekend.  For at least 15 years she has served as the shepherdess for this event that brings hundreds of dancers and their families to the Quad Cities to enjoy Irish step dancing at its best.

Mollie is a long time member of the St. Patrick’s Society.   In addition, her skills as a planner and negotiator have served the Society well; she been part of the Irish Heritage Day Planning Committee since its inception in 1998.
